Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is one of the easiest trekking routes in the Annapurna Region. It is an immensely popular short trek to the Annapurna. The trek starts from Nayapul Crossing the suspension bridge over Modhi Khola river, after an hour of drive from Pokhara.

Poon Hill is a view point to see the Annapurna peaks including Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), Mt. Dhaulagiri to the north and the other southern valleys. The region is inhabited by the Gurung and Magar; both are ethnic groups of Nepal.From Ghorepani we descend for the beautiful village of Ghandruk on the lap of the Annapurnas and there we can experience their age-old tradition and culture.

The whole of Ghorepani is densely forested with rhododendron trees, the national flower of Nepal, Green hills, lovely views on Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri North and South, Himchuli, Gangapurna, Fish Tail Mountain, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV Mardi Himal and Lamjung Himal views there. Here you can study the Gurung's culture, tradition and their living style. Ghorepani trekking can be done all through the year although in monsoon ( July - Aug) it is not recommended.

  • Day 1. ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU(1350m)

  • Day 2. KATHMANDU TO POKHARA

    After Breakfast bus will leave at 0700 am in the early morning will take 6 hrs Drive to reach Pokhara for about 200km by Tourist Bus. During the whole journey you will see the good scenery of River and countryside. Check in to the Hotel at afternoon and will have spare time to exploration. You take a walk around Lakeside and also do boating at Fewa lake.

  • Day 3. POKHARA - TIRKHE DHUNGA (1577m)

    After Breakfast an hour drive you will reach Nayapul (50km). After this you will start trek uphill for 3 to 4 hours, where we will traverse the ridge on Birethati, a prosperous town beise the Modi River. Again heading your Trek to hill, then trek to tirkhe dughga.

  • Day 4. TIRKHE DHUNGA - GHOREPANI (2855m)

    After Breakfast your Trek starts by crossing a stream (Bhurungdi Khola) on a suspension bridge. Trek to a large Magar Village called Ulleri. Above the village where the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields, through rhododendron and oak forests then reach to Nangethanti. You can have lunch or short rest. Again Trek to Ghorepani through the forest. This day you will trek about 5-6 hrs.

  • Day 5. GHOREPANI - Poon Hill (3210m) - TADAPANI (2630m)

    Wake up at early morning at 4 am and hike to Poonhill (3195m) with the help of your stick & flash light. Where you can enjoy with Panoramic Mountain Views & beautiful Sunrise View. Then after an hour Trek down to Ghorepani and have Breakfast then start your 6 hrs Trek to Tadapani. Tadapani means, ‘Far water’. Water supply in this village from long distance.The trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali. We descend to reach Banthanti, before winding our way to Tadapani.

  • Day 6. TADAPANI - GHANDRUK (1950m)

    Trek will start to Ghandruk after the Breakfast. After 4hrs descent Trek to Big Gurung Village called Ghandruk. it is the most interesting tribal Gurung village in Nepal, which provides Gorkha soldiers. It has excellent close -up views of Annapurna South, Machhapurchhe and Himachuli. is an ACAP office that provides information about its different activities.

  • Day 7. GHANDRUK - POKHARA (1910m)

    Today is the last day of this Trek. After Breakfast Trek about 4-5hrs then take Bus back to Pokhara

  • Day 8. POKHARA - KATHMANDU

  • Day 9. Departure
